TRIVIA: What is Foon? An eating utensil shaped like a spoon, the bowl of which is divided into tines like those of a fork, and so has the function of both implements; some foons have a serrated edge so they can also function as a knife.

Sawatdii, Sabaaidii mai? A typical Thai meal is a balance of five flavors: sour, sweet, salty, bitter, and spicy. Your mouth dances with flavor when you eat Thai dishes and the food has kick to it but keep in mind chili is not in every dish. So, if you don’t love spicy food, don’t worry, you can request the spiciness level to their waiters according to your taste buds. You will still be perfectly able to enjoy Thai food with their delicious foods cooked by Chef Aileen.

Suggestions: I wish they serve sticky rice topped with succulent mango for that complete Thai food experience. More selections of beverages. More spicy dishes.

There’s a New Fish in Town: Chibi Chibi Soft Serve

Chibi Chibi Soft Serve

Chibi Chibi Soft Serve is a new ice cream shop that serves Taiyaki ice cream parfaits and floats run by couple B/Vloggers, Brigitte & RJ Aspillaga. Located at 178 The Station Food Park on Maginhawa Street Quezon city, they are the sixth stall on the left when you are walking into the food park. The couple has been traveling around the Asia and one of their favorite things to do is to try local cuisine where they are. They got the idea of opening their own store in the Philippines from Taiyaki Ice Cream Cones that they found in the streets of Korea. The specialized machine is from Korea, a cone maker with a small Taiyaki molding iron to fill just the right amount of Taiyaki to ice cream ratio. Chibi Chibi Taiyaki

Why Chibi Chibi?

Chibi (-小人 or ちび or チビ ) is a Japanese slang word meaning “short”, “cute” hence they came up with the store name Chibi Chibi. Their cones are shorter and cuter plus it sounds really catchy.

What is Taiyaki?

Taiyaki (鯛焼き, literally “baked sea bream”), a popular Japanese street snack is a Japanese fish-shaped and uses a regular pancake or waffle batter. The batter is pour into a fish-shaped mold for each side, cook on both sides until golden brown.Traditionally, it is filled with “azuki” sweet bean paste but Taiyaki is staging a comeback and this time around, with fillings of your choice, interesting huh!

Ayesha Heart got a sweet invite to have a look at a new dessert place in Maginhawa Street and taste their soft serve ice cream and floats. I grew up in Tokyo, Japan and aside from Shopping, cute desserts have a special place in my heart (^v^)There’s no reason to say NO to this invite and grab some desserts because for sure it is so delectable!

Hana Ice Cream Pot

Their Hana Ice Cream Pot catches my eye, I’m happy that Chibi Chibi have this and the best thing is this one has Ice cream in it OMG ♥ I can’t contain my happiness! I used to visit this one cute resto in Tokyo when I was still residing in Tokyo that serves Flower pot cakes *sigh I badly miss it but now that Chibi Chibi serves this, I can now experience these kind of sweets personally without the hassle to flying all the way there. Ahhh, look at my little pot of happiness, chou kawaii ne!

Chibi Chibi Floats

Their floats at the moment are made up of two main flavors Ichigo Pink (Strawberry float) and Midori Apple (Apple float). I chose the Strawberry float and it is LEGIT!

The venue is outdoor seating so the perfect time to drop by is 4pm onwards. I gotta warn you to have a hand sanitizer with you as it gets messy when you eat this but overall, grabbing desserts at Chibi Chibi Soft serve will definitely bring your ice cream experience to a whole new level. What they offer is not only visually appetizing but delectable. Service is great! Their staff are all friendly. When it gets busy, you’ll see the husband do the Taiyaki and the rest of the desserts with their crew while the wifey takes orders and serves it to the people. Congratulations Brigitte and RJ ! Thank you for having me, I enjoy it! It’s a fun experience! I can’t wait to go back with my friends and business partners.
